BAKKAB SPECIFICATION SHEET

(Version 1.17 Revised July 15, 2019)

The BAKKAB Safe Backing System integrates camera, LED lighting, audio and video capture technologies into a rugged portable data collector that is applicable to any backing or spotting/viewing challenge for operators of heavy industrial equipment or tractor-trailer drivers.

BAKKAB employs a powerful 4-sided magnet system embedded in the case allowing it to be attached to the optimal viewing position on any piece of heavy machinery, or the ICC bumper of a trailer. An alternate simple-to-deploy quick-mount strap can be used for non-metallic surfaces.

The BAKKAB app for iPhone or Android devices connects to the data collector via a dedicated WiFi link. Only one device can be paired with the data collector at any given time. The app walks the user through the startup steps to first connect the device and then use it as a viewing and recording screen.

OPERATIONAL NOTES AND ADVISORIES

BAKKAB App. Features include: light on/off, light intensity, mirroring, rotation (0°, 90°, 180°, 270°), refresh video stream, record video, save video, rename video, flag video for incident, delete video, upload video to the cloud. Users are strongly advised to close all other apps on the iOS or Android device while using the BAKKAB App to provide maximum memory availability. Minor pixilation during video recording is normal and does not affect the performance of the data collector or app.

Rechargeable Battery. The average time required to fully charge the battery is two (2) hours. With the data collector on and the LED light at full intensity the average time to battery discharge is eight (8) hours. When charging, a series of four (4) small LED lights on the colored face of the data collector will cycle on one at a time then cycle off in the same manner. This will continue until all four LEDs remain constantly lit, indicating full charge. As the battery drains, the LEDs will go out one at a time. Three LEDs indicates roughly 75% capacity, two LEDs indicates roughly 50% capacity, and one LED indicates roughly 25% capacity.

Power Cord. The battery is charged by means of a 12-volt DC power cord. Users should first open the protective cover on the back of the data collector, then fully insert the charging tip connector, taking care to tighten the lock ring to ensure tight connection. The plug end of the cord may then be inserted into any 12-volt DC adapter, either in the cab or the vehicle or from a battery powered portable charger fitted with a DC charging adapter. When charging is complete, the DC end of the power cord should be removed first, then the pin connector on the data collector. Note that the data collector/power cord assembly is not intended to be dropped during charging. It is possible the power cord will fail or separate at one or both ends in the event of a full-extension drop of the assembly during charging.

Magnet Mounting System. Caution. Users are advised to refer to the following guidelines with respect to operational distance of the BAKKAB® Safe Backing System data collector from various electronic devices.

Water Resistance. The data collector carries an IP 65 rating. The first digit refers to Solid Particle Protection. A rating of Level 6 means Dust Tight. The second digit refers to Liquid Ingress Protection. A rating of Level 5 means Splashing of Water. Users can be confident the data collector may be deployed in weather conditions such as blowing sand in a dust storm or strong thunderstorm downpours without the operational performance being affected.
